AFP database hacked, missions of 20,000 personnel exposed

A local hackers’ group has breached the database of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), which potentially exposed personal information and missions of some 20,000 personnel.

Pinoy LulzSec said that it has found a weak link in the database of the AFP, allowing their members to download the names of the military personnel, serial numbers, units, positions, courses, and class.

Hackers also got a hold of AFP data, which includes mission reports, examination reports that include cheating on tests, absenteeism and injury reports.

The data was collected during a three-day international hacking operation by LulzSec international to which Pinoy LulzSec.

Dubber as “April Lulz,” the worldwide hacking operations, which was participated by other local hacking groups Pinoy LulzSec, Pinoy ClownSec, and FilTech Hackers Philippines, have exposed hundreds of government and private firms were exposed as well as personal Facebook pages.

The hacking operations targeted all government agencies, learning institutions, and private firms.

Besides the AFP, Pinoy LulzSec hackers also downloaded the database of Ateneo de Zamboanga and the Technological University of the Philippines in Taguig.
