The Philippine Independence Day Organizing Committee today officially kicked off festivities of this year’s much-anticipated event with an afternoon of fun graced by Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes, with wife, Madam Yasmin and top Consulate officials at Filipino-themed Deira restaurant in Dubai.
Highlighting the event were different colorful performances showcasing Philippine indigenous culture and traditional dance.
Josie Conlu, committee chairperson, said the celebrations will feature various facets of Philippine society. She also stressed the importance of holding the event for Filipinos born in the UAE.
