Solon vows to make available OFW help desks across PH

ACTS-OFW Party-list Rep. John Bertiz III promised to create overseas Filipino worker (OFW) assistance desks in all barangays across the country to address the concerns of OFWs and their families.

Bertiz said that creating OFW help desks to every barangay can provide immediate assistance to migrant workers by bringing government services, as well as other programs, closer to them.

“Our barangays are the front-liners in delivering basic government services to our people. We hope we can bring the government closer to our OFWs and their families by setting up OFW assistance desk in each barangay,” said Bertiz.

“It is safe to say that most, if not all, of our barangays have families with migrant workers risking their lives abroad and enduring all hardships to provide for their loved ones in the country. We want to get our people feel their government,” he added.

Currently OFW help desks are only available at Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) offices and consular office.

These help desks ready to extend any form of assistance needed by OFWs but processing will take at least seven (7) working days.
