KHDA tweets emojis; students left to wonder if classes are cancelled

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) once again played a joke on students asking about a possible cancellation of classes amid heavy rains.

Following a flood of questions on its Twitter page, KHDA posted a cryptic post containing emoticons relating to rain and school, as well as a biceps, heart, and a couple of crying emojis.

While some interpreted this with optimism–meaning a day-off– some responded with disappointment.

To recall, KHDA did the same thing in November last year when it posted a series of funny tweets responding to students’ complaints about the unstable weather

As with the previous ploy, the KHDA eventually deleted its tweet before tweeting: “We try to be funny sometimes, but that doesn’t mean we’re not serious about our students’ safety. We love you all, rain or shine!”
