Senator Panfilo Lacson was puzzled how the enormous shipments of shabu, with an estimated value of P1 billion, got pass the Bureau of Customs and police checkpoints.
“And the Chinese nationals? WTF!” Lacson, who once headed that Philippine National Police, wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.
Lacson was reacting to the seizure of some 123 kilograms of shabu by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency during a buy-bust operation in a posh village in Muntilupa early Tuesday evening.
Based on the packaging, PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino believes that the so-called Golden Triangle has shipped the drugs to the country, noting similar packaging of drugs confiscated in Thailand and Vietnam.
In a separate buy-bust operation during the same day, PDEA agents was able to confiscate 43.5 kgs of shabu. Three Chinese nationals was arrested at the parking lot of Festival Mall on Madrigal Avenue in Muntinlupa.
