OFWs in Saudi to enjoy longer Eid Al Fitr, Eid Al Adha

A four-day holiday awaits private sector employees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for both Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Development said that a part of their social media campaign is to spread awareness on the rights of private sector employees’ official holidays.

The Ministry said that private sector employees are also entitled to have some time off from work on holidays like the Saudi Arabia National Day, which falls on September 23.

Aside from that, private sector employees are also entitled to take a three-day paternity leave with full pay, a five-day marriage leave, and a five-day leave in case a member of his or her immediate family dies.

The Eid Al-Fitr holiday is predicted to fall on June 3.

The Eid Al-Adha holiday, meanwhile, is expected to begin from the Day of Arafat on August 10.

Earlier this month, the UAE Cabinet approved decree granting the same amount of public holidays for the first time ever for the public and private sectors.

The next holiday in the UAE is expected to be on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, which astronomers say is likely to be either June 3 or June 4 depending on the moon sighting.
