Global Village to extend season by a week

Filipinos in the UAE who would like to see the world without the expense of traveling can experience this at Dubai’s Global Village which has been extended by an extra week.

The closing date of the 23rd season of Global Village was initially set for April 6, but now, due to popular demand, families in the UAE will have some more time to plan their trip to this world-class destination as it was extended until April 13.

“Our decision to extend the season comes as a result to the numerous demands we are receiving through the various communication channels with our guests and stakeholders, indicating the ever huge success this season is recording. We are proud to be the UAE’s number 1 leisure and entertainment attraction, and the world’s leading multi-cultural festival park, and we strive to continuously deliver the best experiences to the millions of our guests,” Bader Anwahi, CEO of Global Village said.

Visitors will still be able to see 27 different pavilions which feature some of the most iconic landmark and cultural representations from 78 countries across the Middle East, Far East and South Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

Aside from the pavilions, there are thousands of cultural shows, retail outlets, food stalls, and park rides for kids and families.

Global Village is also a prime location for both tourists and long-time residents to celebrate Emirati culture as this year it is done through the largest Emirati Cultural zone in the history of the park that includes the UAE Pavilion, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation Pavilion, and AlSanaa Pavilion operated by the Ministry of Community Development which is estimated to be visited by millions to learn about the local culture and folklore.

Global Village’s popular funfair land, Carnaval, is back and better than ever with six new rides, 100 video games and an increased gaming area including many new interactive games. There are over thirty-one rides for children and families and more than 30 games of skill on offer, ensuring a fun-filled evening for all the family. This year, “Wheel of the World” has been redesigned and now features an enormous, 50-meter LED screen covering the 58-meter frame to showcase a multitude of stunning displays including live scenes, shows and views of Dubai.

The 23rd season also introduced a new Wheel of the World, a floating market, musical fountains and fire shows, a circus show, a theater for kids, and many more.

Global Village is open from Saturdays to Wednesdays from 4:00 PM until 12:00 AM, and from 4:00 PM until 1:00 AM on Thursdays, Fridays, and public holidays. Monday will be exclusively dedicated to women and families only.

Entry tickets cost Dh15 per adult, while children under 3 years old, People of Determination (with one companion), and senior citizens above 65 will have free entrance.
