Several civilians residing in the Dutch City of Utrecht have been injured following a shooting this morning nearby the 24 Oktoberplein Square. Dutch police are currently looking into possibilities of a ‘terrorist’ attack as part of the investigation as they assist more civilians to lead them to safety.
In a tweet from the Utrecht Police, they reported that several people have been injured and that the area where the incident took place.
A shooting occurred on the #24oktoberplein in #Utrecht. The incident has been reported at 10.45 hour. Multiple people have been injured. The surrounding area has been cordoned off and we are investigating the matter.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said the government has been holding crisis talks after the shooting.
Local media reports that a man opened fire in a tram and Utrecht’s transport authority has recently ordered the cancellation of all tram services until further notice.
