Dubai, Abu Dhabi land top spots as best cities to live in at MENA region

The UAE continues to position itself as one of the best countries to live in around the world as both Dubai and Abu Dhabi have recently ranked highest amongst the cities in the MENA region for “quality of living” standards.

Results of the survey conducted by Mercer state that Dubai landed the top spot for quality of living across the Middle East with a global rank of 74, followed by Abu Dhabi at rank 78. Both cities ranked the highest across the Middle East for best cities to live in, with a 73rd rank on a global scale.

Vienna secured the highest spot for the 10th year, followed by Zurich at second. Auckland, Munich and Vancouver are tied at third. Singapore (25), Montevideo (78) and Port Louis (83) ranked the highest for Asia, South America, and Africa respectively.

Mercer’s authoritative survey is one of the most comprehensive of its type in the world and is conducted annually to enable multinational companies and other organisations to compensate employees fairly when placing them on international assignments.

In addition to valuable data on relative quality of living, Mercer’s survey provides assessment for more than 450 cities throughout the world; this ranking includes 231 of these cities.
