Saudi announces longer Eid holidays for private sector

A four-day holiday awaits private sector employees in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for both Eid Al Fitr and Eid Al Adha, announced by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development on its Twitter account.

The Ministry said the move is part of an awareness campaign revolving around the rights of private sector employees’ official holidays.

The Eid Al-Fitr holiday is predicted to fall on June 3.

The Eid Al-Adha holiday, meanwhile, is expected to begin from the Day of Arafat on August 10.

Earlier this month, the UAE Cabinet approved decree granting the same amount of public holidays for the first time ever for the public and private sectors.

So, when will the next public holiday be in the UAE?

It depends on the moon sighting, but the next holiday will be on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, which astronomers say is likely to be either June 3 or  June 4.
