A gruesome sight of a 17-year-old girl with the skin peeled off from her face greeted the residents of a remote barangay in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu early Monday.
The body of the victim, identified as Christine Silawan, a Grade 9 student, was discovered in a vacant lot in Barangay Bangkal, with her face skinned to the bone and her undergarments missing.
“She was brutally killed,” Senior Supt. Lemuel Obon, chief of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, described the incident.
Obon said the victim’s body will be examined to find out if the girl was raped.
According to police report, Silawan was missing the night before after going to church, where she was part of the ministry.
The mother’s victim was only able to identify her daughter through the shirt she was wearing.
Three men, who was not identified, are now being considered as the suspects to the gruesome killing.
