Honda Gulf marks 25 years

DUBAI: Honda Gulf FZE, celebrated its 25th Foundation Anniversary on March 4, 2019 at its Jebel Ali Free Zone premises. The event was attended by Japanese Consul-General to Dubai, Dr. Akima Umezawa; Operating Officer for Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Yusuke Hori; Mohammed Al Muallem, CEO – JAFZA, and MD – DP World (UAE Region), and other senior officials from JAFZA, along with Honda distributors, honda suppliers and channel partners.

Speaking on this occasion, Hori said, “Honda directly touched over 32 million customers in 2018 through various products” and re-confirmed Honda commitment to this region.

Umezawa emphasized the long and strong relationship between UAE and Japan, and spoke about the important role played by Japanese automobile companies in UAE economy.

Al Muallem said: “DP World, UAE Region congratulates Honda Gulf on its 25th anniversary. Over the years, the company has been a valued client and partner. We share their values for customer focus, dedication to quality and vision of leading our industries through innovation. We look forward to another 25 years of mutual success.

He said Dubai’s strategic location has made it a major hub in the trade of automotive spare parts and accessories industrie, “and we are in a position to provide our customers the world-class services and support they have come to expect from us.”

“Our door-to-door model has positioned us to provide support to companies like Honda Gulf at every step of the supply chain through Jebel Ali Port’s extensive trade network and multimodal access, logistics services from our parks and zones like Jafza and Dubai Auto Zone, and hassle-free platforms like Dubai Trade to conduct transactions easily and quickly.”

The event also highlighted the journey of Honda Gulf from 1995 when it started as a US$10 million business to over US$100 million in 2018. The journey from 1995 was captured in video, which showed the transformation of Honda Gulf through the eyes of the Honda associates, and its major achievements over last 25 years.
