Bong Revilla backs death penalty for plunderers

Recently acquitted for plunder case filed against him, former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. is backing proposal to impose death penalty for officials proven guilty of plunder.

In December 2018, Revilla was acquitted by Sandiganbayan of plunder which was linked to pork barrel scam of Janette Lim Napoles.

He was detained at the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame, Quezon City for four years since  2014.

But the former senator said false accusers of plunder must also be penalized with the same penalty.

“Kasuhan din ng kamatayan yung mga taong false accuser. Kasi masama din yung nagbibintang ka rin ng hindi totoo,” Revilla said.

The senatorial candidate said that the case that brought him to jail for four years ruined his family.

“Papano naman yung mga katulad ko? Nahatulan ako na not guilty so papano naman yung nangyari sa buhay ko?” Revilla said.
