The Abu Dhabi Police arrested three men who successfully stole 12-kg of gold bars and jewellery worth Dh2.4 million after pretending as buyers.
According to Brigadier General Musallam Mohammed Al Amiri, director in the criminal security sector, the suspects visited a jewellery shop in Bani Yas to pretend as gold buyers. However, their real goal was to find out the weak spots of the store for their planned heist.
Two days later, the three returned to the shop and stole gold and jewellery and brought it to a residential apartment.
The Police were able to track down the suspects who were already planning to sell the stolen items to other shops in the emirate.
During the investigation, the suspects admitted to the crime.
