UAE carpenter wins supercar worth Dh750,000 after renewing phone registration

An Indian expat working as a carpenter in the UAE won a luxury supercar after renewing his phone registration.

Balvir Singh was rewarded with a luxury supercar McLaren 570S Spider which costs around Dh750,000 after renewing his expired ID registrations upon the request of telecommunications company, du, which promised that all customers who will renew their numbers will have an entry for a chance to win the supercar, reported Khaleej Times.

Luckily for Singh, he was the one chosen to win the prize.

When Singh, received the call, he even thought that it was a fake call but eventually realized that he was the selected winner of the draw.

After claiming his prize, Singh decided to sell the vehicle for Dh625,000 to use the money for longer-term investments. He also plans to bring his family to Dubai with a visit visa for a quick vacation.

Despite the huge amount of cash he was able to get from selling the car, Singh said that he will not be quitting his job until his dream company comes to fruition adding that he will also help the needy.

Singh said that the money would help is family a lot especially that he only earns Dh2,200 monthly.

“I have lived a life of penury and seen very tough times but that never discouraged me. I’ve put my faith in God and believe in working hard and God has never disappointed me,” Singh said.
