PANUORIN. Barsha Heights fire drill sends employees scrambling

by | News

Feb. 17, 19 | 9:05 am

DUBAI: What a way to start a work week! Hundreds of employees at one of the buildings in glitzy Barsha Heights went scrambling for safety at around 10:00 am as the fire alarm went off in what had been a fire drill meant to check how fast people can get out of the high rise building in case of an emergency.

The employees assembled at a designated area as fire trucks and emergency personnel swooped in for a more “realistic” exercise.

“It’s a good thing,” said one of the employees declining to be named. “We should always be reminded of what to do in case a fire breaks out… like use the stairs, not the lifts, and go to a marked assembly area.”
The fire drill lasted for over half an hour.

Other areas in the city where fire drills are regularly held includes Dubai Media City where the networks hold office.
