‘Severely frozen’ body of Filipino man found between two houses

The “severely frozen” body of a Filipino man who sustained a gunshot wound to his legs was found in in the United States.

The remains of 30-year-old Anthony Del Barrio was found in between two houses in suburban Morton Grove in Chicago, Illinois, reported Chicago Tribune.

The Morton Grove Police Department said that Del Barrio died of a gunshot wound to his legs with the bullet exiting his hip area.

Witnesses claimed that Del Barrio was with an unnamed friend “hanging out” outside a vehicle when the incident happened.

The authorities added that footprints in the scene suggest that the Filipino man was walking around the area when the crime happened.

“We are trying to find out what the motivation was,” Morton Grove Police Cmdr. Paul Yaras said.

“We do know [Del Barrio] was getting away from the area when he was shot,” he added.

Authorities are still investigating if the crime was accidental or planned murder.

Meanwhile, Del Barrio’s family is appealing for anyone who has knowledge of the incident to step in to help with the investigation.
