Dubai holds contest for most beautiful lovebirds

In cooperation with Zaabeel Studio, Dubai held on February 14 a competition for ‘the most beautiful lovebirds’ in the emirates.

The contest was part of the initiative to keep birds from the danger of extinction.

More than 23 amateur breeders of lovebirds showcased their beautiful pairs of birds at Zaabeel Studio to participate in the competition, reported Emarat Al Youm.

Coinciding with Valentine’s Day, the competition marked the first anniversary of Amateur Birds Club in Dubai, the organizer of the event.

The club said the competition aims to spread awareness among the youth on the importance on breeding birds and why these creatures need utmost care.

They would also like to spread the message of preserving species of birds that are under the threat of extinction.

The birds were judged according to feather colors and the qualitative classification they belong to.
