Exchange Centre in Dubai gives flight tickets through its loyalty program so OFW can return home for husband’s death

Sharaf Exchange, a fast-rising exchange company that is part of the Sharaf Group and favoured by Filipinos in the UAE, provided return flight tickets to the Philippines of an OFW who needs to come home due to her husband’s death.

An OFW, alias “Maria”, just recently came back from vacation from the Philippines when she heard of the news of her husband’s death. Shocked by the news, Maria didn’t know what to do and how she can go back to the Philippines as her money were already spent during her vacation and expenses for her children.

“Kagagaling ko lang sa bakasyon noon, September ako umuwi, October 2 bumalik na ako dito. Tapos October 20 nangyari sa asawa ko. Broke pa ako noon kasi kagagaling lang sa bakasyon, tapos ganoon ang nangyari. Hindi pa rin sumusweldo, dahil kakabalik pa lang din sa opisina. Syempre, wala talaga akong pera,” she said.

(I just came back from a vacation, that was September, and I arrived back here on October 2. The incident happened to my husband on October 20. I’m still broke and had no money at that time. I still have no salary since I just came back to work. I really had no money.)

Desperate to find a way, Maria remembered that she was a member of the Usrati Program, a customer loyalty program of Sharaf Exchange which offers benefits and support to its members including free flight tickets for its members to travel to their home country from the UAE, in case of an accidental death and other emergency situations.

Maria went to Sharaf Exchange with the hope of getting help from them. Being a legitimate member of the Usrati program, Maria successfully claimed the benefit and was able to go home to the Philippines immediately, with the comfort that her entire expense will be reimbursed.

(I didn’t expect that I can claim the benefit immediately. I became a member because there’s a kabayan in the counter which offered me the membership saying “Kabayan, this is only 10 dirhams, you’ll be insured and you can use it anywhere, you can also earn points”. I accepted the offer since it’s only 10 dirhams, it’s not a big amount, and it’s also a way of helping my fellow kabayan.)

Maria is grateful that she made that decision since the Usrati program offers deals and benefits that can definitely help its members. Usrati program members can enjoy more than 400+ offers across Retail, Dining, Entertainment, Beauty, Wellness and Services categories across the UAE, as well as regular exclusive promotions, offers, raffles and surprises from Sharaf Exchange.

Rajesh GK, Chief Executive Officer of Sharaf Exchange, said that one of the most important benefits of the Usrati Program is that it helps its members to take care of their family members. “Usrati is the Arabic word for Family. It is a simple and wonderful program which does two things. The first one is that it allows you to participate in an open-ended program, so you have lots of promotions and offers… It also allows you to take care of your family members. If there’s an emergency at home and you have to rush back to the Philippines, Usrati will shoulder the cost and will reimburse that cost to you,” he added.

Anyone can be a member of the program. Just go to any Sharaf Exchange branch, pay 10 dirhams, present and fill out all the necessary documents. You may also visit Sharaf Exchange to know more about the program.
