Eid Al Fitr is expected to begin on June 5 as per the list of public holidays released by the UAE government.
The government, however, clarified that Islamic occasions, such as Eid Al Fitr, depend on moon sightings. Thus, dates listed are only expected and tentative dates.
Eid Al Fitr is the “feast of breaking the fast” done during the Ramadan, while the Eid Al Adha marks the end of the Hajj or the holy pilgrimage of Muslims in Mecca.

Earlier, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, proclaimed November 30 as Martyr’s Day to be held to remember the heroic deeds of the nation’s martyrs.
Meanwhile, the UAE National Day is celebrated to commemorate the founding of the union of the United Arab Emirates.
