WATCH: Young girl breaks through security to give Pope Francis a letter before Papal Mass

Thousands of Catholic faithful, including overseas Filipino workers across all emirates of the UAE, came together to witness the historic Papal Mass of His Holiness Pope Francis, and a young girl was not able to contain her excitement during the momentous event.

Pope Francis’ visit culminated with the celebration of the holy mass at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi on February 5.

When Pope Francis was on his pope mobile before Mass, a young girl dashed from the crowd and broke through security to give the Pontiff a letter.

In a video uploaded online, it can be seen how the young girl quickly ran from her position in the crowd to reach Pope Francis.

After the Papal Mass and before he boarded his flight home, Pope Francis commend the bravery of the young girl to do such a thing.

“This child has a future!” Pope Francis told reporters. “I liked that. You have to have the courage to do that.” He laughed and added: “Dare I say, ‘Her poor husband…’”

With over one million Catholics all across the UAE and millions more from overseas, only 180,000 people had the rare opportunity to attend the historic Papal Mass in the UAE.
