Know if you have a travel ban due to money cases

DUBAI: If you have a pending financial case, it pays to know if a travel ban has been imposed upon you by authorities, this according to Dubai Police who, in an advisory, said their Criminal Status of Financial Cases smart service, has benefited over 12,000 people since its launch in September 2018.

Brigadier Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police, revealed that ‘Criminal Status of Financial Cases‘ smart service, which allows residents to check their criminal status in financial cases, has benefited more than 12 thousand and 443 customers since its launch in September 2018.

Brigadier Al Jallaf pointed out that the smart service, which is provided by CID in collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence Department at Dubai Police, has received about 43 thousand and 607 queries from different nationalities.

“The smart service is a part of Dubai Police strategy in providing smart and unique services to the public, cut time for clients, reduce required procedures and integrate government departments and services”, Brigadier Al Jallaf added.

Colonel Saeed Al Ayali, Director for the Wanted Department of the Dubai Police’s General Department of Criminal Investigation, said residents can check their criminal status in financial cases registered at Dubai police stations.

“The service cuts time and reduces effort when getting information regarding any cases against them. This service also allows residents can also check if they have a travel ban due to financial cases,” Colonel Ayali said.

The service requires visiting dubaipolice.gov.ae or downloading the Dubai Police app, plus valid Emirates ID.
