The Abu Dhabi Court of Cassation ordered the deportation of an Asian man who sent nude photos of his wife to her brother and family members on Facebook Messenger.
He was also ordered to pay a fine of Dh250,000 for the act, which was a violation under the UAE Cybercrime Law.
When he was produced in the Abu Dhabi Court of First Instance, he said that he only wanted to inform his wife’s family that she was committing ‘indecent’ actions—which was not clearly detailed.
The court then ordered to subject his cell phone under digital forensic investigation to learn if he had sent the photos online, reported Al Bayan
The investigation proved that the Asian man had indeed sent nude photos of his wife through the instant messaging platform.
The defendant appealed the sentence to the Abu Dhabi Court of Appeal.
