Grace Poe leads Pulse Asia’s senatorial elections survey

Re-electionist Sen. Grace Poe is leading the senatorial race by a comfortable margin, according to a recent survey.

Pulse Asia conducted a nationwide survey on Filipinos’ senatorial preference and learned that out of the 70 candidates included in its pre-election survey probe, 15 have a statistical chance of winning. Conducted on December 14 – 21, 2018, the survey was based on a sample of 1,800 registered voters 18 years old and above.

Topping the list is re-electionist Sen. Grace Poe with 75.6% preference of Filipino registered voters. Poe was followed by Sen. Cynthia Villar, solo in the second place, with a voter preference of 66.6%. Tied on the 3rd to 4th Train Law proponent Sen. Edgardo ‘Sonny’ Angara and Taguig City Representative Pia Cayetano with 58.5% and 55.4%, respectively.

Senators Nancy Binay (46.7%), and Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel (45.5%) take the 5th to 7th places along with former Senator ‘Serge’ Osmeña with 38.8% in the 8th to 13th places and recently acquitted Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla, Jr. in the 8th to 14th places with 37.6% voter preference.

Taking their position in the 8th to 15th places are Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos (36.7%), former Senator Jinggoy Estrada (36.3%), and former Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Chief ‘Bato’ dela Rosa (35.7%).

Completing the top 15 are Mar Roxas with 35.0% in the 8th to 15th places, Sen. JV Ejercito Estrada with 33.6% in the 9th to 16th places and Sen. Benigno ‘Bam’ Aquino with 32.6% in the 10th to 16th places.

Campaigning of senatorial candidates and party-list groups will start from February 12 and end on May 11, 2019 while election day will be on Monday, May 13, 2019.
