7 in 10 expats earn more in UAE than in their home country, HSBC survey says

The United Arab Emirates continues to be among the top countries for expatriates and is considered to be the fourth best career destination in the world, according to HSBC’s Expat Explorer survey.

Aside from that, 75% of foreign workers in the UAE receive a budget for an annual airfare so that they can visit their home countries, and 85% receive healthcare benefits.

The survey also said that 7 out of every 10, or a total of 73% of working expats in the country also said that they receive a higher salary in the UAE compared to how much they earn in their home country.

The survey consulted more than 22,000 foreign workers in different parts of the world.

Marwan Hadi, Head of Retail Banking and Wealth Management, UAE, HSBC, also commented on the conclusions of the said survey saying that the country “once again emerges as the destination of choice for ambitious globetrotters looking to expand their careers in 2019.”

“Given these advantages, expats moving to and living in the UAE should look to make the best of their lives abroad. Knowing where to keep your savings and planning short and long-term financial needs is vital. Once you have the logistics in order, you can focus on seeking out new experiences, gaining new skills and learning more about your new environment,” Hadi was quoted as saying.
