The Philippine Society for Project and Program Management (PSPPM) UAE Chapter in partnership with the Polytechnic University of the Philippines – Open University has successfully held their First International Conference in Engineering, Construction and Project Management that took place at Rotana Arjaan Hotel in Abu Dhabi from November 29 to December 1.
Themed “Fostering Innovative Research in Engineering, Construction, and Project Management for Better Implementations”, the Research Colloquium saw 28 Filipino graduates presenting their findings and conclusions about their research.
PUP Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Manuel Muhi said that the success of the international conference is a huge step to take research into a whole new level through partnerships, agreements and collaborations to serve the government, the business sector and the public: “Seeing the scholarly works of our students here today gives me a whole new sense of pride and confidence that PUP, as a great higher learning institution, responds to the current challenges of our country.”
The international presentation is one of the criteria for graduating students to get their TOR. “They are soliciting all of these problems in engineering, construction, and project management, focusing on the UAE. Studies on sustainability within companies the UAE, finding out the causes of delays and risk management are a few of the most notable ones.” said Blesil Apduhan, one of the organizers of the event.
