RAK Crown Prince to reward drug deal informants

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, the police force of the emirate will be rewarding anyone who will report a drug peddler who target students.

In a bid to stamp out the scourge of drugs, especially among the youth in the UAE, as well as the strategic campaign of the Ministry of Interior on zero-tolerance against narcotics, Ras Al Khaimah Police announced the initiative on behalf of the Crown Prince during the 2nd Student Meeting on Drug Prevention.

The event was undertaken in cooperation with the Ras Al Khaimah University of Medicine and Health Sciences.

The ceremony was attended by Major General Ali bin Alwan Al Nuaimi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Ras Al Khaimah Police, Naima Al-Sharhan, Member of the Federal Council, Dr. Guromadhava Rao, Director of RAK University for Medicine and Health Sciences, with the participation of department directors, heads of departments and branches and a number of officers.

The Commander-in-Chief said that Ras Al Khaimah Police is seeking to build awareness among young people and to take full responsibility for preserving their lives and communities from the murky world of illegal drugs.

The cash reward will be given to any informant, said Major General Ali bin Alwan.

The official said the initiative reflects the zero-tolerance of the country on drugs.

In addition, Brigadier Adnan Ali Al Zaabi, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, stressed the significance of students cooperation with their security personnel to reduce the growing problem of drugs and to contribute positively to controlling the spread of this scourge.
