PAL recognized as “most improved airline in the world”

An airline safety and product rating review website dubbed the Philippines’ flag carrier as the “most improved airline” for 2019. gave Philippine Airlines (PAL) the “Most Improved Airline Award 2019” since it has “expanded its global footprint by more than 60 percent in recent years”.

“Philippine Airlines has expanded its global footprint by more than 60 percent in recent years with innovative services such as a single-aisle A321neo flight between Manila and Brisbane and an A350-900 trans-polar route to New York.

“The four times weekly A321neo service featured the first flat-bed business product on a narrowbody aircraft operated to Australia and replaced three flights a week run by a fuel-hungry A340,” the website said.

Moreover, the 4-star carrier was also included in the website’s article titled “World’s Best Airlines for 2019”. Editor-in-Chief Geoffrey Thomas was quoted in the article as saying: “A move to expand its global footprint using new generation fuel-efficient aircraft equipped with the latest cabins makes Philippine Airlines a worthy winner of the 2019 Most Improved Airline.”

Meanwhile, also recognized Emirates as one of the top 10 airlines in the world for 2019, claiming the 6th spot.

Emirates was one of the pioneers of IFE, and one of the first to install seatback videos in economy. Today its IFE platform ICE is in a class of its own,” the rating body said.
