A Pakistani worker in Dubai accused of molesting a Filipina waitress while she was sleeping was cleared of sexual harassment charges on Wednesday, November 14.
The Dubai Court of First Instance declared the man not guilty of molesting the Filipina who claimed that the accused entered her room while she was sleeping and molested her.
Despite the not guilty verdict, the accused was referred to the Court of Misdemeanors for two other charges – trespassing and consuming alcohol without a license – for sneaking into the waitress’s room and for taking alcohol when the incident happened.
The accused, however, said that he only mistakenly entered the room since the lights were off but admitted to have drank alcohol during the incident.
The Filipina can still appeal the verdict.
