El Nido, Palawan to undergo rehabilitation

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) has announced today, November 14, that the tourist spot El Nido in Palawan is set to undergo rehabilitation.

According to a report by ABS-CBN News, DENR Secretary Roy Cimatu said that they would close down 22 establishments in El Nido due to different violations.

Meanwhile, 50 other establishments will also be strictly monitored by the government agency.

In April, President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered the closing of Boracay after the island’s waters turned into cesspools.

Reports did not state when the rehabilitation will exactly commence.
