UAE among top safest countries in UK-based magazine’s list

The UAE was ranked as the second safest country in the world topping other countries including Singapore, Australia, and the United States.

UK-based Which? Travel magazine placed the UAE in the second spot just behind Iceland in its list of top 20 holiday destinations in the world.

According to the magazine, UAE is considered to be an “extremely safe” country together with other countries in the top five including Iceland, Singapore, and Spain.

“Of the 20 holiday destinations that we looked at, Iceland, unsurprisingly, came out as the safest country,” the magazine said.

“The UAE and Singapore were also considered extremely safe, with Spain the next safest of the six popular European holiday destinations that we looked at,” it added.

The UAE is ranked second safest country in terms of violent crime and third safest country in terms of natural disaster. Residents and travellers in the UAE are also at low-risk in terms of having health problems.

The ranking used combined information from the World Economic Fund, the World Risk Report, the NHS Fit for Travel website, and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s (FCO) assessment of terrorism risk levels.
