Dubai Al Ain road gets a new name

One of the most vital routes of Al Ain City, the Al Ain Road was renamed on November 2 after the Abu Dhabi’s Ruler’s Representative in Al Ain Region His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan.

The renaming of the road was a directive of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Al Ain Road, now called the Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan Road, is an integral route of the city as it connects to Dubai and serves many areas such as Al-Hier and Al-Faqa’a. This road also leads to Sharjah via Al Shwaib Area to Al Madam.

The road was built to the highest international standards and accommodates about 7,000 vehicles per hour in each direction.

In 2010, the road was revamped into two phases. The first included the distance from the Al Tawiya Area to the Masaken Area, which has three lanes in each direction, and the second phase extending from Al Masaken Area to Al-Faqa’a Area with four lanes in each direction.
