Former Senate president Juan Ponce Enrile seeks reentry to the Senate as he runs for the post in the 2019 elections.

At the age of 94, Enrile filed his certificate of candidacy through his lawyer Joseph Sagandoy at the Commission on Elections headquarters today, October 16.

In a report by Inquirer, Enrile stated that he did not have to be physically present to file his COC, saying “I think I’m notorious enough.”

The veteran politician also believes that his age is not a hindrance for him to return to his post in the senate. “I don’t think there’s any limitation on the age. It’s just a question kaya mo ba ang magtrabaho dun,” Enrile said.

The former senate president served as a senator for four terms: from 1987 to 1992, 1995 to 2001, and 2004 to 2016.

He is running as an independent candidate.
