Roque resigns today; Mocha files COC as partylist rep

After nearly a year as the Presidential Spokesperson, Harry Roque has formally announced his resignation from the post to run as a party-list representative.

In a press briefing in Malacanang earlier today, October 15, Roque announced that he will run for a seat in the House of Representatives instead under the Luntiang Pilipinas party-list, after doing poorly in the surveys.

Roque stated he will file his Certificate of Nomination and Certificate of Acceptance of Nomination as the Luntiang Pilipinas party-list representative tomorrow.

Meanwhile, another resigned Palace official Esther Margaux “Mocha” Uson arrived at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) today to file her certificate of candidacy as a party-list representative.

After ranking 45-63 for possible senatorial candidates in the last Pulse Asia Survey, the former communications assistant secretary will run as the first nominee of Kasosyo Partylist as an independent candidate, with the advocacy of helping the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
