Philippine Embassy announces final day of Special Passport Lane for Amnesty Seekers

The Philippine Embassy in the UAE has announced that tomorrow, October 15, will be the final day that they will be providing their special passport renewal lane for all OFWs and Filipinos planning to avail amnesty.

In a post from their official Facebook page, the Embassy explained that the passport printing takes approximately 2 weeks for the complete processing of the newly printed passports to arrive at the Embassy.

However, the embassy also affirmed that they will continue to assist all Filipinos who are planning to apply for the amnesty to head back home until the final day at October 31.

Since the beginning of the year, the Embassy has already repatriated 1,376 Filipinos, 913 of which were sheltered at the Philippine Embassy and 463 of which were walk-in clients. Majority of the numbers were victims of illegal recruitment.
