du Tough Mudder, the biggest obstacle event in the world, will be coming back to Dubai this December 7-8 at the Hamdan Sports Complex where Filipinos can be part of the over 3 million people who participate in the annual event and look forward to fun-filled and intensive activities like they have never experienced before.

Christian Moufarrej, Event Director at du Tough Mudder spoke to The Filipino Times about how the huge event was conceptualized as well as a sneak peek of the courses that event goers can expect.

Pushing physical boundaries and mental grit

Moufarrej shares that du Tough Mudder was designed to create an environment where participants don’t only go through a regular obstacle course – they engage with the environmental hurdles that push them to move forward together with their peers. “du Tough Mudder was based on the idea of an old Special Air Service (SAS) soldier who designed an obstacle event that would not only test your physical ability but your mental grit, your awareness and all that. The idea behind it is a one-of-a-kind event, nothing like it where time is not an issue. It’s not a race. It’s not about finishing first, it’s about finishing with your teammates,” explains Moufarrej.

20+ obstacles in 10 kilometers

Filipinos and other participants can anticipate around 28 obstacles over a 10 kilometer course. Moufarrej said that obstacles include varying environmental elements: “We have obstacles with water, with ice, with mud. No one has done this ever before in the Middle East. So they can look forward to that plus our sponsor activations – the village, the food and beverages, it’s a great family day for everyone.”

du Tough Mudder also has a specialized obstacle course for kids – their du Mini Mudder, so that kids too may enjoy the experience and thrill of overcoming new obstacles that will develop their physical skills and instill a sense of teamwork within them.

Group bonding and finding new friends

Whether you’re with a group or attempting to go alone, du Tough Mudder will be a place where you can take advantage of the experience to enjoy and have the time of your life. “For groups, I advise them to group up and sign up at du Tough Mudder and they can benefit from discounts for 15 people or more. But even if you go alone, you’ll finish the event with new friends that you never had,” said Moufarrej.

Filipinos and other participants who sign up as soon as possible can still take advantage of good rates starting at Dh 360 (taxes included) and get more details at toughmudder.ae.
