VIRAL: Woman gets hit by car after jaywalking on EDSA

A dash cam video of a woman who got hit by a car after jaywalking on EDSA is currently making rounds on social media.

As seen in a Facebook video uploaded by by Facebook user Davelyn Lastimosa Ines on Friday, a woman tried to cross the main thoroughfare of the highway but a silver car accidentally accidentally hit her before she reaches the end.

The video ended with the woman lying on the ground due to the impact.

It wasn’t sure if the woman sustained major injuries due to the accident since her identity is still unknown as of press time.

According to the website of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, anti-jaywalking violators need to render three hours of community service every last Friday of the month. They also have an option to pay the P500 fine.

The Department of Transportation also noted that in 2016 alone, they were able to record a total of 32,269 road accidents.
