To mark the beginning of the Christmas season in the Philippines, Jose Mari Chan surprised the mall-goers in a food court in Mandaluyong on the first day of September by treating them to his iconic rendition of “Christmas in our Hearts.”
In a video uploaded on Facebook, Chan is seen singing while making the rounds in the food court. He casually shakes the hands of his audience and gamely poses for pictures.
Meanwhile, netizens are amused by the surprise appearance and agreed that the mall is levelling up from playing Chan’s songs over department store speakers to an actual live performance.
“Hindi ko kinaya na naggagala sya sa mall!” commented one netizen.
“Peak season na ng career niya,” said another.
For the next months until December, Chan is expected to dominate the radio as the singer-songwriter is known for his endearing Christmas songs like Perfect Christmas, Do You Hear What I Hear, and Christmas in our Hearts.
