A woman from Dubai lent Dh5 million to a man who she was in love with only to find out that he is marrying her colleague.
The expertise and disputes settlement department in Dubai, affiliated to the court of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, heard the case of the woman and proved that she was entitled to the Dh4.5 million.
Hashim Salem Al Qiwani, Director General of Expertise and Disputes Settlement Department, said that the woman explained that she lent the man that amount because she was in love with him.
The woman has a senior position in a multinational company and has helped the man over a period of two years, reported Emirat Al Youm.
After she took a short leave from work, the woman received an invitation to the man’s wedding to her colleague. Al Qiwani said that the shock caused the woman to ask for her money back.
It was also reported that before she took leave, the man asked for money to book a suite in a luxury hotel. She later found out that the hotel was going to be the venue of the wedding.
