PH Ambassador to the UAE arrives in Abu Dhabi

Ambassador Hjayceelyn Quintana, the newly-appointed Philippine Ambassador to the UAE, has arrived in Abu Dhabi and has already begun her tour of duty yesterday, August 20.

She was welcomed by the entire staff of the Philippine Embassy upon her arrival at around 4:00 am on August 20, Monday.

Ambassador Quintana was also given the Quezon Medalya ng Karangalan, the highest award of Quezon Province, just last August 16 for her exemplary services in public service.

Prior to her assignment in the UAE as Ambassador, Quintana has served as the Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for Middle East and African Affairs (OMEAA) and as the Philippine’s Consul General in Oman.

Quintana took up diplomatic studies at Oxford University in the United Kingdom, as a British Chevening scholar. She pursued a master’s degree in international public policy at John Hopkins University in Washington DC as a Fulbright scholar.

A first placer in the competitive Foreign Service Officers’ Examination, Quintana has been also posted in Beijing, Washington DC, and Dublin.
