WATCH: Flood invades new resort-themed terminal at Mactan-Cebu Int’l Airport

Endless rainfall in Lapu-Lapu City resulted in flooding inside the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Terminal 2, the first resort-themed airport in the country, on Tuesday, July 31.

Airport passenger, Xig Abadilla, referred to the airport as “Mactan International Seaport” after witnessing the flooding inside the airport.

In his video posted on Facebook, staff of the airport are seen manually ‘sweeping’ the flood inside the drop off area out of the airport.

Abadilla’s photos also show that in some parts of the airport, the flood is as high as the ankle.

The Terminal 2 of the airport, which has been dubbed as the “World’s Friendliest Resort Airport opened in June. It aims to lessen congestion of passengers and showcase Filipino creativity, ingenuity, and hospitality through its architectural designs inspired by Cebu’s rich culture and heritage.
