DOLE launches P300M for OFW organizations

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) through the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) launched a P300 million budget for the livelihood assistance Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Pag-Unlad ng Samahang-OFWs, or Tulong PUSO program.

Under the program, overseas Filipino workers (OFW) organizations can be granted P250,000 to P1 million worth of raw materials and equipment according to their needs.

They will also undergo training with the Department of Trade and Industry and Department of Agriculture.

To qualify, an organization must be accredited by DOLE, and Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) or Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and submit the project proposal together with the accompanying documents to the nearest OWWA Office.

The project aims to support OFWs in building a sustainable livelihood in accordance to the government’s plans.
