Emirati battling with cancer receives help from Dubai Crown Prince

When Khalifa Mohamed Rashid Da’fous Al Muhairi posted a video on Instagram, he had no idea he would receive help from the Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The cancer patient was concerned about the cost of his medical expenses when the Dubai Crown Prince stepped in to pay for the hospital bills, reported Gulf News.

“It’s impossible to get approval for this treatment and I can’t save up for it. Who can donate?,” Al Muhairi wrote on his Instagram account.

“I’ve been fighting cancer for the past five years and it’s going nowhere anymore. The fund I need is for a trial treatment. I need to survive for my wife, my four-year-old son and the society,” the cancer patient wrote under his bio.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan reached out to him and pledged help to fund the rest of his treatment.

“You are brave and we are with you,” His Highness Sheikh Hamdan comment in Al Muhairi’s Instagram video.

The cancer patient is in the US for treatment; he recently underwent a lung surgery but was given three years left to live. His medical bills are expected to reach Dh3 million.
