A man in Ajman was arrested and fined Dh500,000 after throwing religious slurs. He will be deported after serving seven years in jail.

The 41-year old man allegedly insulted God and sent abusive messages through the phone when he got into a fight with a woman, reported Al Bayan.

The man would have to pay the cost of his court proceedings; his phone was confiscated as well.

The court affirmed that Islamic law is most concerned with the protection of public morals.
