Filipinos in Ras Al Khaimah celebrates PH Independence Day

Hundreds of Filipinos in Ras Al Khaimah and its neighboring emirates celebrated Philippine Independence Day last Friday, July 6, 2018 – an event graced by Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes along with various community and church leaders.

The event, held on the second floor of Rak Mall, was held from around 2:30pm well into the night. It was the 2nd PID celebration in Ras Al Khaimah and it commenced with a parade at the mall.

Highlighting the celebrations were a Tinig Handog sa Kalayaan 2018 (Kids Edition from 6 to 12 years old) and (Adult Edition for 13 years old and above); a group dance contest called Indak Pinoy 2018; and an on-the-spot poster-making contest called Guhit Pinoy 2018 for kids of 8 to 15 years old. The participants of these contests were all from Ras Al Khaimah.

There also were song and dance numbers from CFC Rak Chorale, PULSO Band, BathSpa University Dancers, Nefertiti Zumba Dance Group – RAK and Rak ABLAZE. We also have our guests performers – The The Twisted Harmony Dancers from Dubai and Ramoul Ibanez.

Raffle draws, Roleta ng Kapalaran and other parlor games were all over the place for everyone.
