DFA honors former UAE, Jordan ambassadors

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on June 25 honored two former Philippine ambassadors in the UAE and Jordan for their contributions to forging stronger diplomatic ties between the Philippines and the two countries where they were assigned.

The Office of Middle East and African Affairs (OMEAA), the geographic and policy office of the Department of Foreign Affairs in charge of Middle East and African regions, recognized former Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Constancio R. Vingno Jr. and Ambassador to Jordan Junever M. Mahilum-West for completing their duties as Philippine ambassadors.

“The event is part of OMEAA’s tradition of honoring Heads of Posts and foreign service personnel who have completed their tour of duty in these two important regions,” Foreign Affairs Secretary Assistant Secretary for Middle East and African Affairs Hjayceelyn M. Quintana said.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Embassies in Abu Dhabi and Amman were also conferred the Assistance-to-Nationals Award Group Category for their notable service in protecting the rights of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
