Dubai to process visas of employees in 7,500 companies within 24 hours

A deal between Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDFRA) orders the processing of visa of Jafza employees within 24 hours.

The deal, which is expected to benefit more than 150,000 workers employed in at least 7,500 companies, states that GDFRA must provide “enhanced” services, including processing of visa, to Jafza and National Industries Park (NIP) employees, reported Gulf News.

The deal is expected to improve operations in Jafza and NIP where 20 percent of UAE’s foreign direct investment come from.

Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, group chairman and chief executive officer of DP World said the move will allow companies and their employees in Jafza to become more productive and efficient.

“The agreement represents a new phase of cooperation with the GDFRA and integrates business practices as directed by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai,” he added.
