OFW to be repatriated from Saudi due to severe headache

An overseas Filipino worker in Saudi Arabia was left stranded abroad due to severe headache.

According to a report on ABS-CBN, the family of “Joselito” said that the OFW worked for a construction company for two years when he suddenly felt pain.

Merlita, the mother of the OFW, said that they have found out about Joselito’s condition through his workmates.

She added that aside from the severe headache, her son would also suffer from poor eyesight and lack of appetite.

Merlita also said that Joselito experienced occasional headaches even before he flew to Saudi Arabia. She had warned her son not to work abroad, but Joselito insisted to leave to help his family.

One of Joselito’s workmates, Reynante Nicolas, said that there are also times when the OFW would seem like he is out of sanity.

“May oras na maganda ang [kanyang] isip. May oras din na talagang nawawala [na].

“Hindi siya nagsasalita, kung may gusto lang gawin. Yan, palakad lakad tapos kung ano ano lang sinisilip diyan… ‘Di naman [siya] yung [nagwawala]… Nakakausap naman siya. Sumasagot ‘yan ‘pag kausap mo. Matino naman sumagot kaso lang pagkatapos ng kuwentuhan, wala siyang maalala,” Nicolas said in an interview with DZMM.

The report said that Joselito is currently under the care of his workmates in Saudi Arabia.

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) officer Marie Cruz said that their office will help bring Joselito home to the Philippines.

As of the moment, they are only waiting for Joselito’s medical certificate and exit visa clearance.
