OFW shot dead by his cousin at wedding party

An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who was attending a wedding in Sto. Domingo, Ilocos Sur was gunned down by a member of the Special Action Force (SAF).

The OFW, identified as 36-year-old Florante Tabuso, died of gunshot wounds he sustained when a shooting broke out in a wedding party in the house of Renato Antonio in Barangay Naglaoa-an, reported PhilStar.

According to Sto. Domingo police chief Senior Inspector Robert Valiente, the OFW who had just came home for a quick vacation and the suspect, Police Officer 2 Jun Christopher Briones of the Special Action Force, were cousins who do not get along together for a long time.

Tabuso reportedly decline a handshake of Briones at the party. The suspect then pulled out a gun and started shooting the victim.

Aside from Tabuso, his relatives, 36-year-old Palmie Susa, 33-year-old Liezel Agcamaran, and 10-year-old Joshua Rubang, also sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to the nearest hospital to receive treatment.

The suspect, meanwhile, fled the scene following the shooting.

Seven bullet shells for a .45 caliber pistol were found in the scene.
