LOOK: NASA releases satellite images showing Dubai’s changes over 34 years

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has released the satellite images of changes and developments in Dubai over the past 34 years.

According to Dubai Media Office, the emirate has grown from 350,000 to more than 3 million people, with the increase in the number of structures and buildings.

“The city has grown from 350,000 to more than 3 million people. With this growth, the extent of Dubai’s coastline, land, buildings and artificial islands is evident,” Dubai Media Office’s post read.

 

Over the past decades, Dubai has become a hub for developments serving as home of the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa and other structures noted for their architectural and technological design.

The future world’s tallest tower in Dubai Creek Tower is also currently under construction.

The tower, which is located at the Dubai Creek Harbour, will be standing at least 3,045 ft. high, surpassing Burj Khalifa’s 2,722 ft. total height. It is expected to open on 2020.

Other notable structures in Dubai is the world’s tallest hotel in the world in Genova Hotel,  which has 75 floors stands tall at 356 meters high, nearly a hundred meters that the Eiffel Tower in France.
